Ministry Expansion Project Updates for the week of June 21, 2026

Facility/Programming

·   The south doors in the front of sanctuary (that lead to the old fellowship hall & what will now be bathrooms), are blocked off due to the construction. In the event of an emergency, you would be able to push open the doors and break through the plastic barrier.

·   The old upstairs fellowship hall will remain blocked off for the remainder of this project. You may get to the church offices by using the North door on 7th Street, by going through the sanctuary and then through the finance office, or by going downstairs and back up the NW staircase.

·   The North/South hallway in the basement has been repaired and is now usable.

·   Parking lot & alley access is limited. A reminder that you may park on both sides of 9th Avenue on Sundays. And, in the next 1-2 weeks, the North boulevard parking will be available. Also, if you would like assistance or “valet” parking, please talk to an elder or usher.

·   Adult Bible study on Sunday mornings will be held in the sanctuary.

 

Construction Related Updates

·   Backfill work continues for the new foundation. And now, we are waiting for materials to do the necessary underground work before the floor is poured.

·   North boulevard parking as well as pouring concrete in the alley and the north side walk will still be happening as soon as this week. Sounds like some concrete is scheduled to be poured on Monday. 😉

·   The North side of the sanctuary roof was shingled, and several spots of rotten wood were replaced.

·  Remodel work continues inside. Bar joists are being reinforced. The plumbing for the new bathrooms is being roughed in. Framing is almost complete for the bathrooms, storage room and chapel. Another wall was removed by the entry way/stairs. Lots of progress happening behind the plastic barriers. Watch for photo updates in the newsletter and on the bulletin board next week.

Commitment cards are available below, on the bulletin board in the SE entryway at Mount Calvary, or by contacting the church office. The fulfillment phase of the campaign will end December 31, 2027.
